Learn about Toprol XL Metoprolol Succinate may treat, uses, dosage, side effects, drug interactions, warnings, patient labeling, reviews, and related. Metoprolol oral tablets are available as the brand-name drugs Lopressor and Toprol XL. They're also available as generic drugs. Generic drugs usually cost less.

I took 2 different versions of metoprolol, Toprol (metoprolol tartrate) and Toprol XL (metoprolol succinate). Toprol made my symtoms worse but Toprol XL worked fairly well in controlling my conditions, PVC's and PSVT. The only thing that affected me was a slight feeling of dizziness at times and some mental fatigue. We don't even recommend getting up- unless absolutely necessary and then with help only. At that rhythm, it is time to get to a hospital and slow you down with iv drugs and convert you back into rhythm if possible. My Echo came back normal and the only thing elevated was my thyroid - hospital says it shows it is hyperactive. I have been taking metoprolol for almost a year and have had the dosage upped since I was "non responsive" to it. I have been sent to a specialist by my primary doctor. I have been diagnosed with venticular tachycardia and the specialist wants to do an ablation on my heart in 2 weeks. The specialist says it is not my thyroid causing the tachycardia. My cardiologist once quipt that with our lifestyle and diet today, that everyone should be on this along with a statin, and in fact there is already a combination pill available. And of course knowing they gave me this to lower my heart rate makes me nervous. Metoprolol comes to in two varieties; metoprolol tartrate, and metoprolol succinate, the later has a time release property. And with my anxiety disorder I am taking my blood pressure every hour. But dealing with the metoprolol, it has dropped me to 88/55 at times, today 112/73, then 93/55 then 142/70. While this requires only one dose per day, it's cost is much higher than metoprolol tartrate, and some insurance companies place it in a higher tier co-pay. I get hot flashes, shakes, tingling arms, a general feeling of panic when I see my reading is low or I feel the shakes.... I've been taking 25mg of metoprolol for a little over a month for SVT. I take 75 milligrams per day, but have been on as high as 200 milligrams per day. I thought I was going to have an ablation but at my last doctor appt my ekg was normal and doc and there was no need for an ablation. The dose you have put yourself on is extremely small. If you do the math, you will see there is very little left of the drug in your blood when you take your next dose. My SVT is caffeine induced and since I quit drinking caffeine I've had no palpatations. oh geez 15 years at least, to taking the metoprolol. I was having LOTS of palps, and the dr felt that the Atenolol just wasnt working so much for me anymore. I know the brochure I got with it, says it can take time to get into my system. He reduced my medicine from 25mg to 12.5 and said if that worked I could eventually quit taking it. My worry is : Is metoprolol and amlodipine safe to take? But..thing when I was on the Atenolol..heartrate very very rarely EVER went out of the 60s. I'm going to my cardiologist in a couple of days to ask if I can try a different medicine. After a 60 minute nap I'm still a bit drowsy but better.

If your kitty's suffering from allergies, immune disorders or inflammation, there is, as a certain technology company might say, a medication for that. From swallowing a pill to sitting patiently as you rub a gel onto her ear, your can can take prednisone several ways. When you think of medications, the first image that probably springs to mind is a pill. And when you're dealing with a cat, the second image probably involves a wide-eyed feline who is meowing, batting your hands away and trying to flee as you make her swallow the pill. Prednisone is fairly small in pill form, but you'll still typically need to open up your kitty's mouth and place it on the very back of her tongue so she'll swallow it. Some felines are a bit less dramatic about the ordeal and may eat the pill in a pill pocket—a treat with a compartment that holds the pill—or a tiny amount of tuna that conveniently hides the pill. Chewable prednisone pills and pills that melt on your kitty's tongue also exist, flavored like tasty foods your cat loves, such as fish and chicken. Pills don't have all the glory of fixing up your kitty's allergies, autoimmune disorders and other illnesses prednisone keeps in check. Doxycycline is an antibiotic drug that kills a wide, weird and wonderful range of bugs that are often difficult to treat with other antibiotics. These include bacteria and parasites that take up residence inside our cells (called “intracellular organisms”), making them hard for most antibiotics to reach. Unlike many other antibiotics, doxycycline penetrates deep into our tissues and ends up inside our cells, where it can kill these bugs. Examples of intracellular organisms susceptible to doxycycline include numerous “zoonotic infections” (infections that are spread from animals to humans), chlamydia, legionella (the cause of legionnaire’s disease) and malaria. Other susceptible microorganisms include “spirochaetes” (that can cause syphilis and Lyme disease) and the bacteria that cause acne, anthrax and cholera. Doxycycline interferes with a microorganism’s ability to manufacture proteins – the “building blocks” of life. Protein manufacture occurs in a part of the cell called the “ribosome” and is fundamental to any organism’s survival.
