I am often asked which is the best of the three most common erectile dysfunction treatments: Viagra, Levitra or Cialis. Viagra is the most well-known of the three as it has been around for over 15 years. There is no simple answer to this question, as some men find one treatment works better for them than the others. This means that a lot is known about its effects and side effects. It works within an hour of taking a tablet, and is best taken on an empty stomach. The effects of Viagra will last for four to six hours. Viagra was developed and originally marketed by the pharmaceutical company Pfizer, and until 2013 Pfizer was the only company allowed to sell it. When Pfizer’s patent on Viagra expired, the market was open for other companies to produce the medicine, albeit under its generic name Sildenafil, rather than the brand name Viagra. Sildenafil contains exactly the same active ingredient as Viagra (sildenafil citrate), and works in the same way. Erectile dysfunction is a common occurrence in men with diabetes. The incidence of erectile dysfunction increases progressively with age, from 5% in men age 20 to 75% in men over age 65. The cause of erectile dysfunction in men with diabetes is usually related to a decrease in the blood supply to the penis as well as to injury to the nerves that are responsible for the erection mechanism. A decrease in testosterone production has also been identified as the cause in some men with diabetes. Since 1998, when sildenafil (brand name Viagra) first came on the market, oral therapy has been successfully used to treat erectile dysfunction in many men with diabetes. (Sildenafil was followed in 2003 by the drugs tadalafil [Cialis], vardenafil [Levitra] and avanafil [Stendra], which work in much the same way.) Some 50% of men with Type 1 diabetes who try the drugs report improved erections, and some 60% men with Type 2 diabetes do, too. However, that leaves a large percentage of men with diabetes and erectile dysfunction who do not respond to therapy with one of these pills.

Cialis, Levitra, and Viagra are oral medications used to treat erectile dysfunction (ED). You may also know them by their generic names, tadalafil (Cialis), vardenafil (Levitra), and sildenafil (Viagra). About 30 million men occasionally have a problem with getting or keeping an erection, according to the Urology Care Foundation. When ED becomes a problem, many men turn to oral ED medications. Cialis, Levitra, and Viagra each work in similar ways. But there are also some differences, such as when you take them, how long they work, and what their side effects are. Cialis, Levitra, and Viagra are all in a class of drugs called PDE-5 inhibitors. These drugs work by blocking an enzyme called phosphodiesterase type 5. Diabetic men with erectile dysfunction might consider a prescription for a drug like Viagra to be a permanent cure for a temporary issue: Take a pill, problem solved. But the truth, a leading urologist says, is entirely different.“If a diabetic patient has erectile dysfunction, it’s not enough to provide Viagra [sildenafil] or Cialis [tadalafil] and then send him on his merry way,” J. Francois Eid, MD, a New York City urologist, said at the annual meeting of the American Association of Diabetes Educators. “It’s important to let individuals know the drug has not cured the erectile dysfunction. If patients don’t take care of the diabetes, the erectile dysfunction progresses.”In an interview, Dr. Eid shared several messages for medical professionals who treat men with diabetes and related erectile dysfunction:• Diabetes has “devastating” effects on the penis, and may even cause it to shrink.• Long-term uncontrolled diabetes can make ED permanent.• While ED drugs often fail in men with diabetes, several other options exist; and penis implants may provide significant relief. An estimated 50%-75% of men with diabetes experience from some degree of ED, which is thought to be three times more common in diabetic men than other men, according to Dr. Eid.“Diabetes has a devastating effect on the muscle tissue inside the penis,” he said.

At the age of 39 I'm just sorting out a skin routine - I should have started 20 years ago and have a lot of damage to try and undo! I have just started using a glycolic face peel and have been recommend a moisturiser with SP50. I wonder if anyone could recommend a Retin A cream and advise as to what percentage I should be looking for - Big thanks x I think Retin A is only available on prescription. DD uses .25 strength twice a week for occasional skin breakouts and she uses Clinique Cityblock at all times. I also use a glyco cleanser a couple of times a week. If you are thinking of buying from the internet, be cautious. I think it's really thinning on the skin and doesn't actually improve your skin at all. I think Retin A is way too harsh and left me feeling burnt and dry. Eating a good diet and plenty of exercise too (says she who's stuffed her face with chocolate all bloody day) Gosh - really useful advice, thanks. My recommendation would be regular facials, exfoliations (micro dermobrasion is great) and a good moisturiser. I'll skip the Retin A then, I heard that it was some sort of wonder cream and thought as my skin has been so neglected I ought to be using it. I have just bought some factor 50 so I will try it and see how that goes. RoC Retinol Correxion Anti-Aging Eye Cream.
